Liggett Neighborhood Halloween Party

Despite our traumatic morning, the kiddos were ready to party with their neighborhood friends! The kids all went Trick-or-Treating around our street, then played in the bouncy house and had a potluck.

Kitchen Helpers

After the bee drama, we finished decorating the pumpkin cupcakes for the neighborhood Halloween party. I love my little helpers! I frosted, and the kids decorated!

Such concentration

Bees

We had quite a scary parenting moment this morning.  Chris took the kiddos outside to play while I was getting things ready for the neighborhood party later that afternoon.  Caden and his friend Olivia were playing hide and seek.  All of a sudden, Caden and Olivia started screaming...they had been swarmed by bees and were getting stung.  (We think Olivia may have stepped on an underground hornet/wasp nest).  Chris rushed Caden inside and we hosed him off with the kitchen sprayer, then stripped him down.  Poor kid had 33 bee stings.  We then went to see Molly (our ER Doc neighbor) and she told us what to look for if he were allergic - puffy lips, swollen hands, etc.  Thank goodness neither Caden or Olivia were allergic to the bee stings.  We put baking soda and water paste on all the stings and then put on some hydro-cortisone cream.  I took both caden and Emma upstairs to the bathroom because the bees had followed Caden into the house.  Chris was then downstairs killing all the bees - he said he probably killed at least 20 inside the house.  It was such a scary and traumatic ordeal.  We are so thankful and blessed that everyone was okay.

Carving Pumpkins

This morning we carved our pumpkins! Caden wasn't so sure about all the slimey seeds, but Emma girl got right in there with her scoop. She liked getting all the seeds out!

Feeding the Ducks

I have great memories of feeding the ducks from when I was little. I used to go with my grandparents who lived in North Bend, Oregon. I think it was called Mingus Park or something like that. It was a great playground and a great place to feed the ducks. I am happy to have found somewhere that my kiddos can have the same memories! We just zip on down to the Palace of Fine Arts and feed the ducks (and seagulls and pigeons). The kids love it! Today we even had the Swans over to eat the bread we were throwing. They are so graceful and beautiful! We also saw a few turtles in the pond. What a great Friday morning!

Fearless Emma Girl! (All the birds too - pigeon, swan, seagull, and ducks)

Caden was a bit more cautious!

T-Ball and Ballet

Today was a gorgeous day! We had a great (hectic) morning with T-ball and ballet again! Caden had a chance to hit off the T and Emma wore her other ballet outfit - the purple one! So cute :)

Little moments

I love having time with each of my children by themselves. This morning, Caden and I made pumpkin bread with chocolate chips for his teachers. We had so much fun baking together. Although, it's usually my Emma girl wanting to help in the kitchen! And this is one of my absolute favorite pictures of my Emma Grace! Never mind that she's got only her shirt on (with her legs in the sleeves). I LOVE that face!!!

Stirring away!

My favorite picture of Emma

Wow!!! She looks a lot like me as a child!
