Swim Lessons!

Caden loves to swim! Every Thursday, we go to swim lessons at La Petit Baleen, in the Presidio (very convenient). Teacher Theresa loves Caden because he is the only one in our class (of 6) that smiles at her! She is a very sweet girl! Every class the kids float around in noodle boats, get to float on mats, sing songs, do sit jumps from the wall, go under a tunnel, and just have fun! I get to go in the water too. I love our swim time. Caden has even been "submerged" several times and doesn't seem to mind getting his face wet! Two weeks ago the teacher put goggles on Caden and he kept them on the entire time! He looked so cute - kind of like a mad scientist! I couldn't stop laughing every time I looked at him. It was so funny! I wish I had a picture of it, but maybe next time I will get one. I have met some really great mom's in our class. I really look forward to our swim lesson time together.

Look at that bod! Woo Hoo! (whistle)

If you look closely, you can see the tunnel behind Caden's head (the red thing)

All tuckered out after swim lessons, nice and cozy in his towel!

5 Teeth!

Caden now has 5 teeth and is working hard on a sixth! I hope the sixth one will come out soon. Probably in the next week or so. It is so close. I'll keep you posted when it's in. Not the best picture, but you can see all 5 teeth!

Standing by himself

Caden's new favorite thing is to stand by himself! He must like the freedom and likes to bounce up and down while he stands. I think he sees Chris and I standing and wants to be like us. He is very proud of himself and always has a smile on his face.

Music Together

We have been going to Music Together since the beginning of January. It is a wonderful music program. Caden really enjoys it every Wednesday! We also love our teacher, Daveen. She is a very talented musician and makes class fun and exciting each week. He is the youngest in his class, but likes to watch the older kids (like 8 months older, but much more active). It has been fun to see him make progress in the class. The neatest thing I have noticed is that Caden now picks up the "shakers" (maracas) in class and actually shakes them. When we first started, he would pick them up and they'd go straight to his mouth. It is fun to watch him develop. Here are a few pictures from class. We love dancing with the scarves and he loves playing the little drum that is in front of him.

Boxes make great cars!

So I found a box that was the perfect size for Caden to sit and play in. I pushed him all around the house and he was content to just sit in there and hang out for a few minutes to play! Who knew a cardboard box could be so much fun?!?
Go faster Mommy!
Hanging out!

Fever

My poor baby had a fever of 104.3. We went to the Doctor on Tuesday. She checked him out and said everything looks okay and that it must be a virus. She wanted to make sure it wasn't something else, so had us go get blood work done at the hospital. Of course I was freaking out! What else could it be? She wanted to get his blood count??? I was fearing the worst, "what if he has Leukemia?" When we got to the hospital, Caden was super tired (missed the morning nap) and of course not feeling well. The lab technician told us we had to get a stint put in. I had to hold Caden's arm out still, otherwise he said he'd have to do it again. I made sure Caden's arm wasn't going anywhere. I think the whole experience was far more traumatic for me than for Caden. Later that day, the Doctor called and said everything is fine, and just to give him some baby Motrin or Tylenol to keep the fever down and also a lukewarm bath. We did as we were told and Caden was better in the next 48 hours. Poor guy, it was definitely one of the scariest times for me thus far. I don't like it when my baby is sick. Anyways, here is a picture of Caden after the Hospital visit and after a nap. He looked pretty unscathed by the whole thing...always his happy little self!
