Christmas in Oregon

We headed up to Oregon for Christmas this year.  We had a great time with both our families.  We are so blessed to have them all living in the same state, and even the same city!  Here are some pictures from our special time in Oregon.
Down at the Waterfront Carousel in Salem - Caden loved it, Emma wasn't so sure!

Can these two be any cuter!?!

Christmas Pj's

I have decided that this will be a Harris Family Christmas Tradition!  Every year, the kiddo's will wear their Christmas pj's in front of our Christmas tree.  Here is the first annual Christmas Pj picture!  Aren't they so cute!?!
Love them holding hands - I did not tell them to do this!
Caden is so sweet to his baby sister!

Gingerbread House with School Friends

We went to a great place over in Marin called gingerbread builders to make gingerbread houses with Caden's friends from school.  Caden had a great time licking his fingers and sampling the candy.  The best part about this place is that the houses are already made, so you just decorate them!  Emma and Dada were there too - Dada was behind the camera!
Yay!  The house!
Trying the frosting!
And again!
Putting a gumdrop on the roof!
(look at all the frosting on his face!)

Seeing Santa

Today we went and visited Santa in our Christmas best. Caden isn't really sure who he is, other than the guy with the white beard that is in the book, The Polar Express. When I told Caden that Santa would bring him a special toy, he asked Santa for a train. Emma was okay with Santa, but wasn't too happy when Mama left her on his lap for the picture...she was doing her archy back, but no tears!

Not the Traditional Nativity!

This made me laugh out loud!  Caden and Emma have a Little People nativity set, but Caden put the 2.5 year old boy twist on the traditional nativity.  This is too funny!  He played with the Little People everyday we had them out for Christmas time.
The angel is driving the dump truck!
The Angel is driving with Joseph as a co-pilot and all the wise men, Mary,
shepherd, and inn keepers are in the back!
Emma liked them too!  The Camels are surrounding Baby Jesus :)
Here's another arrangement -
a wise man is driving the bus with all the others shoved in the back!
Pile in everyone!

Christmas Tree Decorating

This evening, we went to go get our Christmas tree!  I love the smell of a fresh Christmas tree :)

My little helper - Caden put on most of the ball ornaments!
But his absolutely favorite ornament is our cable car

Thanksgiving 2011

We spent Emma's first Thanksgiving up in Oregon at Sadie and Grandpa J's house.  We had fun, but Caden had a few bumps and bruises.  On Wednesday night, he fell forward from a chair and then hit the table and got a huge fat lip, then he also fell part way down the stairs of the back hall.  It was quite a rough day.  Thursday, we enjoyed a traditional family Thanksgiving meal with Dada's family.

School Friends

This morning we visited the Flower Conservatory in Golden Gate Park.  There was a special exhibit featuring a mini-scaled "Playland."  Playland used to be an amusement park in San Francisco from 1928-1972, but now no longer exists.  We met up with some of Caden's school friends.
