Pink or Blue?

I called this morning and made an appointment to find out the sex of our baby! We have an appointment on January 9, 2009! Yay! This is so exciting!

Seceond Appointment with Dr. huh

Today we had our second appointment with Dr. Huh. We got to listen to the baby's heart beat. She said we will get to hear it every time we come in. She told us all the results from my blood tests. Everything is looking good she says. She also told me that I will start gaining about 1 pound per week. That is something I am not looking forward to...I think my tummy will get huge because I have such a short torso. The other exciting news is that she had us schedule a second ultrasound so that we can find out the sex of the baby. We are so excited!

Little Tummy?

Wow! I am certainly noticing my tummy these days! My pants are getting a little bit tighter and my shirts are a bit more snug. Here is the view at the end of the first trimester...

Baby's First Photos!

We had our first ultrasound appointment today. The baby is measuring at 12 weeks and one day. So the due date is June 5th. We got to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time. It was beating so fast, the technician said it was about 165 bpm. It was very surreal for me. I'm laying there and looking up at the screen and am seeing this tiny little baby moving all around. It was so amazing to see. Chris was so excited that the baby was moving around as much as it was...he says that it's a sign of a little athlete!

Frist Appointment with Dr. Huh

Today we met with our doctor. She is very nice and calm. I'm sure she'll do wonders for me in the delivery room! Not much to report as I am just about 10 weeks along. I had to give a urine sample and get some blood work done. We didn't listen to the heart beat because it is too early to hear with the doppler. She suggested that we have our first ultrasound so I am going to make an appointment for that. At the ultrasound we will do something called a combined screening which looks for fluid at the back of the baby's neck and I will also have some blood work done to find any chromosomal abnormalities. So far everything looks good she says!

First Triathlon Together

October 12, 2008
(Baby is 6 weeks along)

We completed our first triathlon together in Sacramento. Jamie did the Super Sprint which was a 200m swim across the American River, a 5 mile bike-ride and a 1 mile run. It was pretty fun! I plan to do more after the baby arrives.
Chris completed the Sprint which was a 1/2 mile swim, a 15 mile bike and a 3 mile run. Our friends Stephen Houghton and Dave King also did the Sprint tri with Chris. Amanda Houghton,
baby Jackson, Jennifer King and Nelson were there to cheer us on.
It was a great day...fun to share with such great friends!

Big News!!!

Tonight we found out we are having a baby!!!
Chris is the one who actually saw the results first as he was watching the test very intently.
Our reactions...
Chris: "Is the plus a good thing?"
Jamie: "It depends..."
Chris: "Let me see the box, Oh God!"
Jamie: "Oh my gosh!" "I can't believe it!" "Holy crap...What are we going to do?"
Followed by laughing and crying at the same time (Jamie), and more hugs and crying(Jamie), and looks of complete of shock on both of our faces.

Jamie: "Well we better take some pictures!"
