Bonk!

Poor Allie! When we got home from walking Caden to school, Allie wanted to unzip her sweatshirt by herself. As she was trying, she tripped and her head hit the wall-the kind of hit that takes them a moment to cry. Poor Allie! But she did cuddle me on my lap with some ice on her forehead while we put on Minnie Mouse. Sweet baby girl!

We were walking Caden to school this morning and when I looked back behind me, I saw this! Cuties!

I hope they'll walk like this together next year! So sweet!

Brownie the Worm!

We had a great morning playing outside and Emma saved a worm!  She found it squirming around on our patio and picked it up and put it in this pink bucket, then went to find a shovel to give our little worm some dirt.  The worm, named Brownie, is now hapily back in the soil in the bucket!  (Not quite sure how we will let it go back to the dirt - it is hard as rock from this drought)  Emma is our little nature girl and wants to save everything!

Dinner party!

Tonight we had an amazing dinner party at our house! We hired a chef and he made us an appetizer with 3 dips - hummus, tatziki, and red pepper dip with baked pita. Then for dinner we had roasted heirloom and goat cheese tartlets with rosemary and thyme drizzled with honey. Arugula salad with toasted hazelnuts, cranberries, and pear with white balsamic vinaigrette. Spice crusted grilled salmon with broccoli rabe pesto, and roasted brussels sprouts. Dessert was a molten chocolate cake. Delicious! The whole night was wonderful! Drank Mahonia wine with great friends- the Zuckers, Rodriguezes, Rodgers, and Ayers.

This morning Caden woke up rather early, got dressed, and went to work! He was so proud of his drawings!

Emma and Allie were having so much fun together at the park today after music class. They were busy playing in the sandbox together. Just love how they now play together!

Super cute! Emma was busy circling things in a Fisher-Price magazine that came to our house today. She chose a MiniMouse toy for Allie and wrote her name (knowing that Allie LOVES "Min") Absolutely precious! Emma girl has the sweetest and kindest heart. Love that girl and her big heart.

Happy 4th Birthday to our Emma Grace!

We had a wonderful party today with Emma's friends!  I've never seen more cute little princesses in one place!  Princess Anna came to the party and there were even 3 different kinds of "snow" to play with!  Emma was thrilled to have so many friends to play with at one time.  The weather was also beautiful, so we moved the party outside!  We played pin the nose on Olaf!  I took a polaroid picture of each child and then they decorated it with stick on jewels and snowfalke stickers.  Happy birthday princess Emma Grace!

I have loved seeing Allie wear all of Emma's outfits.  It's like dejavu and I love remembering Emma wearing the outfits too.  This is one of my very favorites!  Love the bows on the tummy and little ruffles on the booty!

Uncle Mark and Allie

Uncle Ralph's service at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.  He passed away on December 11.  He called me "Hippie Chick" - a name well deserved when I was like a flower child in middle school - wore a sunflower on a hat (like Blossom).  Uncle Ralph was a very special man and I miss him so much.  It was strange coming home to Oregon and not seeing him.  I'm so sad that he never got to meet Allie - as I know he would have loved to hold her and would have a sparkle in his eye.  He liked to act so tough, but he was really such a big teddy bear.  I love and miss you very much, Uncle Ralph.
