Eating with a fork!

Caden can now eat off of a fork. If I put something on the end, he will put it in his mouth successfully every time! He's even managed to pick up a few things from his highchair tray on his own! Getting more and more like a big boy each day! (video coming soon)

First Toddler Moment

Caden and I went down to the Warming Hut near Chrissy Field today. We ate lunch in the little cafe (sans highchair, which was quite an adventure of its own) then went outside to play after lunch. Caden was loving being outside running around in the grass and watching all the people and dogs. It was getting close to his nap time, so we headed back to the car. When we got there, he was arching his back like never before! I tried to put him in the carseat, but he was arching his back so much that he was falling down to the floor of the car. I wasn't quite sure what to do, so I just started laughing and said, "oh boy! The beginning of toddlerhood!" It wasn't worth the fight for me so we went back and played in the grass for about 5 more minutes. Then we walked back to the car and again he started arching his back, but I got smart and distracted him with one of his toys, and although he was upset about being back in the car, at least I could get him to sit in the carseat this time.

Fish, fish, fish! 15 months old today too!

We had a busy day today! This morning we went to the Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park to celebrate Caden turning 15 months! After Caden's nap, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful day, and then I gave Caden his 5th haircut! He also got to watch Sesame Street for the first time (he really liked Elmo and Murray) to keep him entertained during the hair cut.

We love going to the AoS so that Caden can watch the fish. This time, he was making fishy faces and sounds at the fish...it was so cute! (Video coming soon)

Afternoon at the beach

So, San francisco has been having really cold weather this summer. Today we finally saw some sun and headed to the beach around 4 this afternoon. It was beautiful!

Hello? Hello? Caden has been picking up anything that looks remotely like a phone and putting it to his ear! My phone, the remote, our little camera...it is so cute! These are all the little things I never want to forget! (and I never seem to capture it in time with the camera!)

Caden has become much more steady on his feet! He is literally running around the house now! He has also inherited Chris's sweat genes...he gets rather sweaty after all that running!

When he is tired from running, he'll sit down to relax and do a puzzle or two. He likes to take the pieces out, we're still working on getting the pieces back in. He can also make all the animal sounds for each animal on the puzzle. (I'm trying to figure out the best way to list Caden's words and signs that he knows on the blog, so be on the look out)

Caden's new favorite thing to play with is his Lego's! He loves to pull them apart...

Today is Chris's 30th birthday! Happy Birthday Daddy, we love you lots! Hope you are having fun playing golf in South Carolina!

This time Caden's molars are coming in...poor guy, they seem to be taking forever! Lots of drool in the Harris household these days...

To keep his mind off his teeth coming in, Caden loves drumming on his little drum!
